Overview
STEM Education for Primary Schools (28/2/2022 – 27/2/2025)
“STEM Education for Primary Schools” is a particularly ambitious Project funded within the framework of the Erasmus+ European Program Key Action 2 (KA2). The Project involves five partners related to the educational process, coming from four different European countries: Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, and Cyprus.
The main objective of the project is the development of the educational curricula mentioned below, using STEM methodology for the training of Primary school learners, trainers, and teachers.
More specifically the educational curricula that were developed are:
- Introduction in basic machinery │ Targeting students in the first two grades of Primary Schools,
- Introduction in complex electrical machinery │ Targeting students in the third and fourth grades of Primary Schools,
- Introduction in Educational Robotics │ Targeting students in the fifth and sixth grades of Primary Schools.
After the development and evaluation, the educational curricula will be applied in teachers and learners from approximately 100 primary schools in all 4 participating countries.
The project consortium, after the successful development and pilot implementation of the above-mentioned curricula, will proceed to the national relevant certification bodies (e.g. in Greece there is EOPPEP) in order to officially certify the curricula. In addition to this, project consortium will forward all the project results to the relevant public authorities (ministries, local and regional educational offices) in order to trigger the conversation for promoting and incorporating STEM education in the mandatory curricula in National Public schools.
